It took some time, but finally, here it is – my travel bucket list for 2019! Or, kinda at least. After last year, hardly any of my plans turned out as I expected in my post on my travel plans for 2018, I somehow doubt that it would be different this year. After all, life is what happens while you are busy making other plans. So this year, my travel bucket list is kinda different – enjoy!
☐ Learn to surf
Oh yes, I have travelled quite a lot, but somehow I never learned how to surf. So that’s definitely on top of my bucket list for this year. I have the feeling I might really suck at it, but you never know until you try…
☐ Go on holidays with my best friend
After ten years of friendship, my best friend Rica and me went on holidays last year for the first time. We spent 10 amazing days in Israel, and I am really looking forward to make more memories in 2019. Not sure yet, where and when we will travel together, but as we thought about going to Morocco in the first place last year, but switched to Israel due to availability, this might be our destination.
☐ Visit someplace I have never been before
Actually, this is on my list each year – I love exploring and I want to keep exploring every year. It does not necessarily have to be some place far away, or a country I have never been to. It could also be a smaller city somewhere close or…where ever.
☐ See more of Bavaria
I have lived in Munich for over two years now, and let’s face it: there are still so many places in the city and in Bavaria or the Alpes that I haven’t seen. No doubt there will still be many by the end of the year, but I am aiming on making it less. Starting with some smaller cities in the surroundings, but also new cafés and restaurants in the city, some hikes in the summer as well as visiting the Bavarian lakes…looking forward!
☐ Visit friends
An advantage of having travelled and lived abroad several times is knowing people all over the world. I have visited my former colleagues in New York a little over a year ago, and now it’s time to visit some more friends. I will actually start working on this next week by going to Cologne for carnival, visiting my best friend. But friends in Berlin and Budapest are next!
☐ Learn or improve a language
I speak four languages fluently and my Spanish is not too bad, either. However, I realised in Cuba last year, how less I still use these languages and how I miss learning something new. I am not sure yet if I will start on improving my Spanish again or continue to learn Greek which I started several years ago. But I definitely want to learn or improve one language!
That’s it for today! I will let you know as soon as there is anything a little more concrete regarding travel plans, but that has to do for the time being. What are your travel plans for 2019?
