Eat & Drink: Smorgasburg | Brooklyn

There are many things New York is famous for, but when it comes to food, foodtrucks are a thing! Not only the many little trucks in Manhattan, but especially foodtruck festivals such as Smorgasburg that takes place in Brooklyn are something I am naturally attracted to. Food, good weather and some friends – that’s all I need on a Sunday!

Smorgasburg Foodtruck Festival

Smorgasburg takes place every Saturday in Williamsburg and every Sunday in Prospect Park, and is a foodtruck festival with many different foodtrucks. Some of them are offering local food while others have exotic things, and there is something to try for everybody. The few times I have visited Smorgasburg, I realized there are some trucks coming back and every time, while others come and go.

Highlights at Smorgasburg

My highlights were the Ramen Burger and the Rasberry Lime Ice that just tasted like a smoothie. The German Döner that was not really typical German and really expensive as not the best, but there are so many options, there is definitely more to try for the next time anyway. Another great things are the DOUGH donuts – I didn’t have them at Smorgasburg though, but you can also get them at Wholefoods and some other places around the city. And even if you might need to wait in line for those, it’s completely worth it!

How to get there?

Just take the Q to Prospect Park on a Sunday afternoon and follow the other people (or the signs) to Smorgasburg and enjoy! Make sure to bring enough cash though, as the ATMs might be pretty crowded!
